MindField Online review: a $5 cash floor, but joining is by invitation

By Pamela · Editor, SurveyQueen
Last verified · Based on official provider information
MindField Online is a US survey panel that pays in cash rather than points. Its help centre states the cash-out minimum plainly: once you have earned $5.00 you can request payment from the member page.
The catch is at the other end. MindField's own 'how it works' page says empanelment is by invitation, so acceptance is not automatic, and the panel publishes no per-survey rate.
Quick verdict
Best for: US members who want a straightforward cash balance with a low floor and do not mind waiting a week or two for payment.

Pros
- A genuine $5 cash floor — one of the lowest in the category, and it is cash, not points.
- Free to join, and the panel explicitly warns members never to pay a fee to join a panel.
- Balances are held in dollars, so there is no points-to-dollars conversion to decode.
- Payment processing time is published, which most panels do not do.
Cons
- Empanelment is by invitation, so an open sign-up is not guaranteed to be accepted.
- No published per-survey pay, so the earning rate is unknowable before you are active.
- 1 – 2 weeks to process a payment is slow next to a same-day PayPal panel.
- United States only.
The $5 cash floor
Once the balance reaches $5.00, you confirm your mailing and email address and request payment. The help centre says payment is then processed within one to two weeks depending on the day the request is submitted.
Holding the balance in dollars is a real advantage. There is no points currency to convert and no exchange rate that quietly changes.
Invitation-only membership
MindField states that empanelment is by invitation, followed by an activation email you must click to finish setting up the account. If the activation email does not arrive, it will be in the spam folder.
Because membership is gated, treat any page promising instant guaranteed acceptance with suspicion.
Costs and safety
Joining is free. MindField's FAQ says it will never ask members for money and advises treating any company that charges a fee to join a panel as suspect — sound advice that applies across this whole category.
The provider publishes no screen-out proportion or per-survey rate, so we quote neither.
Our verdict
MindField Online gets the two things right that matter most to a new member: cash instead of points, and a $5 floor you can actually reach.
The invitation gate and the one-to-two-week processing keep it from the top of the table. Worth holding as a steady secondary panel.

Is MindField Online legit?
MindField Online is a real, operating consumer survey panel. We last checked its published terms and payout rules on 2026-09-14, against the provider's own documentation. What is worth knowing before you join is not whether it exists, but what it actually pays: we estimate Not published by the provider from its published per-survey pay, against a $5.00 cash-out floor.

How MindField Online compares on the things people complain about
Cash-out floor and payout speed are the two figures behind most "scam" accusations in this category. A panel that makes you reach $50 before paying feels like a scam long before it is one.
| Panel | Cash-out floor | Reported payout speed |
|---|---|---|
| MindField Online | $5.00 | Processed within 1 – 2 weeks of the request |
| Survey Junkie | $5.00 (500 points) | PayPal usually under 24h |
| Swagbucks | $3.00 (300 SB) PayPal / gift card | Gift cards 0 – 24h, PayPal 1 – 10 days |
| Pinecone Research | $10 (verified from Pinecone's FAQ, 2026-09-14) | Immediate — credited to your account after each survey |
| Ipsos i-Say | $5.00 (500 points) | 24 – 72 hours |
| Branded Surveys | $5.00 (500 points) | 1 – 3 business days |
Eligibility is limited to the countries named above, so a signup from anywhere else will normally be rejected at the registration step.
MindField Online payout time
MindField Online reports paying out processed within 1 – 2 weeks of the request, once your balance clears the $5.00 minimum. The wait people actually notice is usually reaching that minimum, not the transfer itself.
- Minimum before you can cash out

- Ways to get paid
- Cash payment, plus prize draws
- Reported processing time
- Processed within 1 – 2 weeks of the request

What can slow a payout down
- Identity or account verification, where the provider's terms require it before a first withdrawal.
- The payment method: providers generally quote longer processing windows for bank transfers and PayPal than for gift cards.
- Reaching the cash-out floor itself, which takes longer when part of your balance comes from small screen-out credits.
- Account checks triggered by the provider's terms, such as VPN use, shared addresses or duplicate payment details.
MindField Online against the fastest payers we track
Ranked on the payout timings each provider publishes, not on how any single account was treated.
| Panel | Cash-out floor | Reported payout speed |
|---|---|---|
| MindField Online | $5.00 | Processed within 1 – 2 weeks of the request |
| Survey Junkie | $5.00 (500 points) | PayPal usually under 24h |
| Swagbucks | $3.00 (300 SB) PayPal / gift card | Gift cards 0 – 24h, PayPal 1 – 10 days |
| Pinecone Research | $10 (verified from Pinecone's FAQ, 2026-09-14) | Immediate — credited to your account after each survey |
| Ipsos i-Say | $5.00 (500 points) | 24 – 72 hours |
| Branded Surveys | $5.00 (500 points) | 1 – 3 business days |
If a payout is late beyond the times above, the fastest route is the panel's own support ticket with your redemption reference — not a chargeback or a public post, both of which usually freeze the account.
MindField Online alternatives
